Michele Chiarlo’s 60th Harvest
It was 1958 when Michele Chiarlo stamped his name on a bottle of Barolo for the first time. Since then, 22 thousand days have passed; 60 years in which Michele has acquired knowledge and shaped the territories of Monferrato, the Langhe and Gavi in a way that few others can.
He has refined his palate, or more accurately his palate of memory, into an exceptional testament of tasting, trying and improving over many years.
This is an important anniversary for both Michele personally and the winery. To celebrate we are hosting a prestigious dinner Wednesday, October 3rd at the Osteria Tra la Terra e il Cielo in the Moasca Castle at 19:30.
It will be an evening of celebration, but also charity as the proceeds of the evening will be donated. It is reservation only. The menu is a curation of some of the best culinary minds in the region. A collaboration between four Michelin-starred restaurants: San Marco di Canelli, Guido da Costigliole di Santo Stefano Belvo, Il Cascinale Nuovo in Isola d’Asti and Cà Vittoria di Tigliole. This is an unprecedented culinary showing, with the menu being paired with the best of our wines.
During the evening, the Chiarlo family will be sharing stories of this impressive history: the hard work of enhancing the Barbera vine and the subsequent challenge of developing the Nizza appellation, producing a prestigious range of Barolo cru wines, purchasing parcels in Cannubi and Cerequio. The glamourous work of making wine.
The evening will also delve into one of Michele’s deepest passions; his territory. Supported by his sons, Alberto and Stefano, the winery has developed impressive initiatives in the realm of art, culture and solidarity in relation to the land.
CHARITY DINNER
The proceeds of the evening will be donated to the Associazione AgerS “I Talenti” in Calamandrana to support their La Porta è Aperta project – various initiatives dedicated to social inclusion, research, skills training and employment opportunities for young people with intellectual disabilities, such as autism and down syndrome.
“I wanted to celebrate by giving back to this project by donating the proceeds to young people with intellectual disabilities to help them find active employment in our community”
