Thirty vintages, seventy years: the fifth issue of C.R.U is out
C.R.U was created as a magazine meant to be experienced in print – an editorial project that lives on paper and accompanies time spent with us, in the cellar, during events, and in moments of exchange. It offers a way to engage more deeply with what defines Michele Chiarlo.
Each issue follows a different thread, tracing the fabric of who we are.
For this fifth edition, that thread leads to Cerequio – thirty vintages of a cru that, since 1988, has captured the time and place from which it comes, within a company story that this year marks its seventieth anniversary.
Below, you can read the editorial that opens the issue, now also available online. Enjoy!

Cerequio has accompanied the story of Michele Chiarlo since 1988. Vintage after vintage, this cru has moved through time without ever losing its identity, proving that true continuity lies in the ability to navigate change with coherence.
In this issue, we celebrate time through Cerequio and its thirty vintages, and through the seventy-year history of our winery. We do so by observing and honoring not only the identity of a wine and a vineyard, but the changing world that has grown around them.
And, as always in this magazine, we leave space for images, landscapes, vineyards and experiences, for people – including Giuseppe “Beppe” Caviola and Gianni Fabrizio, who offered us their expert reading of Cerequio – for memories and fragments of story that, together, continue to shape this journey.
Because to safeguard wine is to safeguard time: the Roots that brought it into being, and the Humanity that will continue to interpret it.
C.R.U is meant to be savored with your eyes: minimal text, sweeping vineyard views.
Enjoy the read, and as always
