We are talking about Cerequio Barolo Docg Riserva, one of the outstanding cru wines cultivated by Michele Chiarlo within the homonymous Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva: the breathtaking Cerequio vineyard, also known as «The Riviera of the Langhe»
AN EXEMPLARY VINEYARD
Cerequio Barolo Docg Riserva comes from the Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva of the same name, situated in the town of La Morra. It is one of the most iconic vineyards in the region, referred to as the «Riviera» due to the perfect exposure, gentle slope and elegant shapes that the hill forms on the Langhe skyline. Nestled among the vine rows, rises Palás Cerequio: Michele Chiarlo’s wine resort dedicated to Barolo and its most prestigious crus.
THREE EXCELLENT VINTAGES
The new lot from the Michele Chiarlo Wine Club offers members exclusive access to three historic vintages of Cerequio Barolo Docg Riserva preserved in our cellar.
The 2016 vintage received 97 points from Decanter, 96 points from Kerin O’Keefe and 95 from Robert Parker: proof of the exceptional quality of a vintage unanimously described as «stratospheric».
The 2010 vintage is fruit of a «perfect» year, one of the greatest of the early 2000s. This wine received extraordinary ratings, such as 98 points from Wine Enthusiast (which included it in their Cellar Selection).
As for the rare 2007 vintage, only a few bottles are left. The warm and perfectly balanced year yielded a round, harmonious and heavenly Barolo.
