Tortoniano Barolo Riserva DOCG 2019 in James Sukling’s Top 100
We’re proud to share that our Tortoniano Barolo Riserva DOCG 2019 has been ranked #46 in James Suckling’s Top 100 Wines of Italy 2025.
This selection is the result of an extensive effort: nearly 9,000 Italian wines tasted over the past year, with only the 100 most representative making the final list. The key criteria? Quality and value, followed by the so-called “wow factor” – the emotional response that only a great wine can evoke.
Most wines included received 97 or 98 points, and each had to meet a minimum production threshold of 3,000 bottles.
Beyond the numbers, what makes this Top 100 special is its attention to the people behind the wine. As James Suckling writes in his introduction:
“Great wine doesn’t just come from great terroir – it comes from people who care deeply for their vines. After 44 years as a wine critic, I’ve experienced firsthand how much knowledge, dedication and intuition it takes to grow great grapes. In an era of climate pressure, that care matters more than ever.”
For us, this recognition is an encouragement to stay the course – to keep giving voice to our land with the same dedication and respect that have always guided our work.
