Cerequio Barolo DOCG, Tre Bicchieri once again
Following its latest 5 Grappoli from Bibenda, Cerequio Barolo DOCG 2021 has now also been awarded the Tre Bicchieri in the Gambero Rosso Vini d’Italia 2026 guide – for the twelfth time.
This double recognition once again shines a light on an iconic vineyard and leads us toward a special milestone: in 2026 we will celebrate 30 vintages of Cerequio with the release of 2022.
This award is not only the result of a winemaking journey, but a tribute to an extraordinary place – the natural amphitheatre of Cerequio, one of Barolo’s most celebrated crus, where Nebbiolo expresses elegance and depth vintage after vintage.
It also reaffirms the special relationship Michele Chiarlo has long cultivated with the great crus of the Langhe: vineyards to preserve, heritage to share.
Cerequio Barolo DOCG 2021
The 2021 vintage in Cerequio was one of beautiful balance. Following a properly snowy winter and a cool spring, summer brought steady warmth and sunshine – never excessive – leading into a bright September with wide diurnal shifts. These were ideal conditions for a slow, even ripening of the grapes.
From this cru – one of the most iconic amphitheatres in Barolo – comes a wine of great character and elegance. The bouquet weaves together ripe fruit, balsamic notes, and delicate herbs. On the palate, it shows structure, silky tannins, and a long finish that reveals its true calling: longevity.
